Screening of the movie 'A l'air libre' & Meeting the experts behind the scene - Projection du film 'A l'air libre' & Rencontrez les personnalités du film
Key Issues - Enjeux:
How to return to freedom after having been deprived of it? What is the meaning of freedom? How does one apprehend time, future, love or relationships with others after months or even years behind the bars? What is the meaning of the word reintegration for those directly affected? Is it possible to recover after experiencing the ordeal of incarceration and prison life? Can we escape the reasons which brought us to prison? Is it possible to start a new life and leave the past behind after jail time?

Movie Description - Nestled deep in a valley of Picardy, a unique farm in France welcomes soon-to-be-released prisoners that can spend the rest of their sentence outside of jail. A singular integration structure that provides them with housing, work, social support and a rich and rigorous community life. Surrounded by staff and volunteers, these men try to recover and rebuild a "life project".
"A L'air libre / In the open" is certainly a movie about after jail time. But it is also, and probably more than everything else, a movie about imprisonment. A prison that cannot be seen but which is ubiquitous. A prison which we are constantly assessing the marks and from which it seems so difficult to break free.

A new Digital Strategy for the French Development Agency : Launch of the public online consultation - Une nouvelle stratégie numérique de l’AFD : Lancement de la consultation publique en ligne
Key Issues – Enjeux :

We live in an increasingly connected word. All over the planet, access to digital technology is continuing to expand. In all sectors, from Smart-cities to e-health, new digital solutions appear. Like start-ups, big enterprises and solidarity actors who are drivers of innovative solutions, public action opens to new ways of doing. In order to guide its action in the coming years, the French Development Agency (AFD) adopts a new Digital Strategy. To finalise and complete this document, the AFD decided to use the collective intelligence of its partners and to launch a public and open consultation. We invite you to this launching session to discover the Digital Strategy and the consultation approach.

Zero Poverty Question | How to eradicate poverty in Africa by 2030?
Key issues - Enjeux :

Have two decades of unprecedented growth sufficed to put Africa on a path to zero poverty by 2030? Scrutiny of the available data suggests that poverty may have come down more than commonly estimated, but that more Africans are living in extreme poverty today than in 1990, due to population growth. The human development challenge remains enormous despite substantial progress. The inequality picture is mixed. Acceleration of Africa’s poverty reduction is called for. These stakes and challenges will be addressed in this session, where the participants will have the opportunity to exchange with one of the authors of the World Bank’s "Poverty in a rising Africa" report.

Against the background of the workshop “Fighting against Deforestation and Climate Change,” which was co-organised by the French Alliance for Sustainable Palm Oil at the Convergences World Forum in 2015, Transitions wishes to yield priority commitments and a roadmap to respond to the “Zero Deforestation” objectives. These priority commitments will be carried by workshop participants to be later distributed on a bigger scale in the territories on which they operate. These vibrant territorial approaches mobilises a diverse set of actors (companies, sectors, donors, non-governmental organisations) that are all gathered at the forum. Together, they can contribute to laying out the foundations of new partnerships and consolidating a project management method that is respectful of communities and tropical ecosystems. These results will be expanded by the Transitions and presented in other international conferences in 2016.

Discover the programme:
15:00 – 15:45 Roundtable: Experts insight
15:45 – 17:30 Workshops

[MOOC]
After their first MOOC, “Partnerships that change the world”, ESSEC and Le Rameau launch exclusively during the 2016 Convergences World Forum a new MOOC, “Alliances that change territories”.
Territories are faced with major economic and social challenges that no single actor can address alone. This MOOC demonstrates the powerful potential of multi-actor alliances that can build innovative solutions together for the common good.

Post-World Humanitarian Summit: What lessons? What perspectives? - Post-Sommet Humanitaire Mondial : Quelles leçons ? Quelles perspectives ?
Key issues - Enjeux :

According to the initial diagnosis of the World Humanitarian Summit (WHS), “the humanitarian system cannot both rapidly respond to new crises, and continue to service situations of chronic need.” Is this conclusion relevant or questionable? Is it necessary to refine it?
What to take away from the key recommendations of the WHS? What is missing?
Is the United Nations ready to lead these much-needed changes and/or how to proceed? Should we fear the risk of reaching a stalemate?
What commitments are humanitarian actors proposing to effectively improve humanitarian action?

Screening of the film Bangladesh - Projection du film Bangladesh
Key issues - Enjeux :

Bangladesh, also called the ‘‘country of crazy rivers’’, has approximately 155 million inhabitants for a territory four times smaller than France, making it the most densely populated country in the world. Chronic floods and cyclones affect the country almost every year. And these phenomena have intensified over the last fifteen years, largely because of global warming. According to scientists, almost 20% of the country could be engulfed, before 2050, the subsequent rising water from melting glaciers. Bangladesh would count more than 20 million climate
refugees!
Yann Arthus-Bertrand, photographer, film director and ecologist,
invites us to follow the daily life of Yves Marre and Runa Khan in
a documentary showing both the impact of climate change “here
and now” on the populations of Bangladesh and the work undertaken
by the NGO, Friendship to help the most affected of these
populations adapt to changes which they are powerless to control
and for which they are not responsible in any way.

Youth We Can! Evening - Soirée Youth We Can!
Limited Capacity seats available

Soirée Youth We Can

The Youth We Can! (YWC!) Evening is a key moment for Convergences, which receives up to a 1,000 youths every year. This evening aims to create the spark that would encourage the youth to mobilise at their level and inspire young social entrepreneurs and committed personalities. To encourage the youth, the speakers will share their experiences as actors of change. This 5th edition will follow the steps of the Conference of Youth on climate change (COY11) Manifesto and the Sustainable Development Solution Network (SDSN) Youth Solution Report. It is at once a working base, a lobbying tool or a source of inspiration for the youth who want to get involved.
7:30pm-9pm – Conference

9pm-10pm – Networking coktail / Animations on how to find one's path:
- In-booth signing session, by Pierre Chevelle

La Soirée Youth We Can!

Lab Laboo ephemeral showroom: Digital innovations for a 3Zero world - Salon éphémère Lab Laboo : Les innovations digitales pour un monde 3Zero
The Lab Laboo exhibition offers a space for networking for digital actors at the service of the common good. It is also a meeting point for the actors of the Lab Laboo ecosystem. Lab Laboo is a platform by Convergences that brings together digital economy actors who, through 2.0 innovation, contribute to the construction of a “Zero exclusion, Zero carbon, Zero poverty” world.
Lab Laboo is meant to be an open space that mirrors the new creative spaces (coworking spaces, Fab Labs, Living Labs, “digital cafeterias”, Hacklabs…) that are booming within new urban frameworks (open data, DIY, smart cities…) and that contribute to urban sociability.

The following organisations are present:
- Here I am acting with One Heart Spot! by One Heart Communication
- Search and innovate with ICT for a world 3Zero, by Institute of Research for Development (IRD)
- Handicap: make one's voice heard!, by I Wheel Share
- Missing Maps: let's map the most vulnerable areas, by CartONG!
