Anne Hidalgo became, during the municipal elections of 2014, the first woman to be elected mayor of Paris.
On the 8th of August 2016, in Rio de Janeiro, she was elected new C40 Chair, a worldwide network of cities fighting global warming. This network plays a significant role as it represents the eighty-five most influent cities with a total of 650 million inhabitants of territories producing 25% of the global GDP.
