Eric Groven, born in 1962, is an "Inspecteur des Finances" (Senior National Auditor), and a graduate of the HEC business school and the École Nationale d’Administration.
After four years at the French Ministry of Finance, he joined the Societe Generale Group in 1993, working first at Crédit du Nord, as account manager for corporates then Head of Financial Management.
In 1997, he was appointed Head of the Paris-Victor Hugo group of branches at Societe Generale. Between 2000 and 2009 he worked outside the Group, first as Partner at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Consulting. He joined HSBC France in 2002, first as Head of Development for the CCF and then, from 2005, as Chef Financial Officer.
At the end of 2009, he returned to the Societe Generale Group as Regional Delegate for the southern Ile-de-France region of the French retail banking network. In 2012, Eric Groven was appointed Deputy Head of Societe Generale Retail Banking in France and became a member of the Group’s General Management Committee.
