Jean Louis Bancel studied at HEC business school and the ENA, and holds a Bachelor in Business Law and a Masters in Public Law. He worked for the French Ministry of Finance Insurance Department, and became Chief of Office for the Secretary of State for Consumer Affairs. Jean-Louis Bancel worked in the insurance sector, as the General Secretary of the ‘Groupement des entreprises mutuelles d’assurance’ (GEMA), and then as CEO of the ‘Fédération Nationale de la Mutualité Française’. He joined the Credit Coopératif as Vice-Chairman in January 2005 and became President in May 2009.
