Since 2013, Samuel Remy has worked specifically on building transdisciplinary initiatives within a network of complementary third places along the Ourcq canal (WoMa (coworking & Fablab), Ourcq blanc (co-living & cultural space), Villette MAKERz by WoMa (digital school, workshop, shop), which aims at creating a common territorial resource.

The name WoMa is the contraction of the words Working and Making. WoMa is a coworking space and a “Fablab” for people desiring to connect ideas and materials through collaboration. Located in the 19th district of Paris, WoMa has been running for three years so far, and provides access to a range of fabrication and prototyping tools. WoMa supports emerging practices for startups and formal businesses. It also provides learning for citizens and children and work opportunities for young people.

Trained as an architect and engineer, Samuel has always been involved in complex and innovating projects. Among those are: Samuel began his career in 2001 working on the direction, set design and music for a mobile theater. Three years later, he moved to Venezuela to work on informal settlements, and participative urbanism and design, micro-economics habitat and rights to the city. When returning to France in 2009, he founded Juste Avant l’Aube, an architectural practice focusing on sustainable buildings -laureate of the French Environment and Energy Management Agency prize for innovation in 2011, positive energy building-. He also advises internationals companies on their building policies (Restructuring of a real estate technical department, valorisation of complex property transactions).
